Happy Birthday BYB Hub!

Happy Birthday BYB Hub! And if you don't know what the BYB Hub is, I'll tell you...
The BYB Hub is a place where Yankees writers everywhere come to share their passion and stories about the greatest team in baseball - the New York Yankees. It was started 1 year ago today on October 24th, 2014 by Robert Casey, founder and writer for Bleeding Yankee Blue (BYB)...which if you haven't read or checked out yet, it's a MUST!
You can find Bleeding Yankee Blue at www.bleedingyankeeblue.com You will also find the BYB Hub there. It's filled with inspiring, educational and entertaining stories about baseball, the Yankees, sports related topics, and life.

It was Robert Casey's dream and vision to provide a place for other bloggers to share their work and to contribute stories about their love of the game as well as their love for the Yankees. It's the fastest growing site around and people are loving it. Not only has it provided a platform for writers both young and old, beginners and pros...It's also a place where Yankees fans support each other and unite as one.

So on this very special day, I want to thank the BYB Hub personally for giving me the opportunity to share my stories about a team I've loved ever since I was a little girl and continue to love to this day.

The name of my blog is called "If This Yankees Hat Could Talk". I hope you check it out and I hope you like it. I'm kind of new at the blogger game, but I'm learning fast and loving every minute of it.
Oh, and by the way, Bleeding Yankee Blue has some really great BYB gear. The tank top I'm wearing in the photo above is available on their website. You can get some other cool stuff there too. Thank you Robert Casey and the BYB Hub for always supporting me and making me feel like part of the family.

Be sure to check out the other bloggers in the BYB Hub as well. There's some real talent on the roster.

My final words, with the help of the Captain are...Hats off to the BYB Hub! Cheers and Happy Birthday! Here's to many more years of fun stories and memories dedicated to the Yankees. I'm honored to be a part of it.
I'm Lisa Varga. My blog is called If this Yankees Hat could Talk.   Follow me on Twitter @theLisaVarga.

On this day one year ago my good friend Robert Casey, owner and chief of Bleeding Yankee Blue, approached me with an idea that he called the BYB Hub. What the BYB Hub was designed to be was a central place for you, the baseball fan, to get all your news in one place… but with a twist. You aren’t going to see the ESPN news feed or the MLB.com recycled news articles here on the hub, you’re going to see the best of the best (in my opinion) of the up-and-coming and established bloggers on the internet.
The gorillas of the blogging world, for Yankees fans it’s places like River Ave Blues for instance, have their own market and they do their own thing. On the hub the focus is on the little guy that is just starting out or the aspiring writer and blogger that wants some new, and free I might add, exposure to their writing and their respective blogs.
See when blogs like Bleeding Yankee Blue, or own blog here at The Greedy Pinstripes and others started they were built without help for the most part. They were built on hard work, dedicated and a load support from everyone reading this blog post this morning. Casey, the great baseball mind and person that he is, wanted to give a new avenue to writers and the BYB Hub was born.
While Robert Casey and I run blogs centralized around the New York Yankees, and there are plenty of Yankees blogs on the hub if that’s what you’re looking for, the Hub was designed to feed a general MLB fan’s craving for news and opinions as well. There is a great Red Sox blog on the Hub, Section 36, an awesome blog centered around the Oakland Athletics, Bullpen Baseball and Sock Talk , and even a blog devoted to players in Major League Baseball with Dutchbackgrounds. There’s a little something for everybody.
I want to take this time to once again give my sincerest gratitude to and appreciation not only to Casey for starting the Hub but to all the great blogs and writers that participate in the Hub. We made it one year guys and gals, let’s make the second year even bigger and even better! So CLICKHERE and check out the BYB Hub and if you’d like to be a part of the Hub (or you know of a blog that should be included in the hub) contact Casey on Twitter by tweeting @BleednYankeeBlu or contact myself @GreedyStripes and I will contact Casey direct.

Have a great day everyone and Happy Birthday to the BYB Hub!

It's not a monster website yet, but it's catching on.

Last October, I had an idea. I wanted to create a site where newly formed baseball blogs could come together and form a new movement in the world of sports blogging.  I wanted a place of 1 stop shopping for all the readers out there to discover new places to find interesting stories, news, opinions on the New York Yankees, and all the baseball teams out there.  In a Starbucks in Manhattan at 6:06am... I "pressed the button" as you would say and the BYB Hub was born.  Our first and only post was Interested in being a part of the BYB Hub? and since then we have collected 24 'newer' blogs filled with hungry and creative writers, interested in 1 day making a name for themselves.  I was proud of that achievement and I hope in the years forward, we'll be able to invite more blogs to come to the Hub and share their work.

The BYB Hub philosophy is quite simple; We share the outlet, but you need to write.  It encourages new writers to stay on it.  If you get lazy... if you stop writing... the Hub may not be for you.  If you're willing to write often, share the HUB, promote each other... that's how the Hub gains stem and how you get read.  REMEMBER... many readers out there don't know anything about some of these newer blogs... promoting the Hub and writing often with great content will keep you in the game.  It's that simple.

So check out the BYB Hub... click and read away.  I am proud to have created this new family, a sister station of Bleeding Yankee Blue.  A way to get noticed in this world of much more established Yankee and baseball websites.  It's a good shot for you to get noticed... but it starts with you and only you.  The BYB Hub can promote you, but if you don't help yourself out and also promote the Hub brand... it doesn't work.  It's a give and take... it's a family.

If you are a new baseball blogger and want to get placed on the BYB Hub, now is your shot.  Reach out to me and we'll get you started.  I'm on Twitter at @BleednYankeeBlu . Just reach out, we will review your blog and hopefully get you on the Hub... FOR FREE.

It's the Hub's first birthday.  Man that went fast.  Looking forward to many more.

What an accomplishment.

You may remember it was just over a year ago that Robert Casey approached me with an idea. He was going to create a master list, a Hub if you will, of baseball blogs. It would be a place that would serve several purposes. For readers, it would allow people who love baseball to head to a single place to find a ton of quality baseball writing from several different viewpoints. Sure, the “Y” in “BYB” stands for exactly what you think (or fear?) it does. But, there would bloggers on the Hub covering other teams as well. It would make it easy to see those other points of view. For bloggers, it would give some lesser known or less established bloggers the exposure they need to have their voices heard. It would also be a ton of fun for everyone.

He was right.

Oh sure. At first, as I mentioned, I was a tad bit apprehensive when a Yankees blog approached me about a project. Was I going to be the butt of their jokes? Was I going to have to plaster pinstripes all over Section 36? Of course neither of those were the case. After all, not all Yankees fans are dingbats. And, even if the audience of the BYBHub slants slightly to the Bronx, I’m happy to provide the voice of reason. Tomorrow the Hub reaches its first birthday, and I’m pleased to report that I’m glad I joined. In fact, I regret not being even more involved.

That is definitely something that will be improved going forward, especially on my end. I need to (and intend to) use the BYBHub as more of a resource myself. If the Red Sox have a story that involves a team covered by the Hub, I need to do a better job reaching out. If the Sox trade for Sonny Gray, of course I’ll need to get some comments from Jen at “Bullpen, Baseball, and Sock Talk.” When the Red Sox sweep the Yankees in a series, I’ll be sure to get some reactions from some of the Yankees BYBHub bloggers, and at least provide links to what they have to say.

There’s also been talk about some Hub-wide events. Chances to have all the blogs discuss the same topics at once. Being able to easily see different viewpoints on the same subject will be a great opportunity for readers to expand their thoughts, and the BYBHub will provide that central location. A must-visit launching pad for basebally goodness.

So if you haven’t done so already, go over and click the BYBHub logo on the sidebar. It’s a great way to find other wonderful things to read at any time. (Once you’ve finished reading everything at Section 36, of course!) Keep doing it. There’s always something new. You’re not going to want to miss any of it. If you’re a baseball blogger, head over to the BYBHub to find out how to get your blog added to the roster. The more the merrier and the better for everyone!

Happy Birthday BYBHub!

On October 24th, the Bleeding Yankee Blue Hub will celebrate its first anniversary. While many of you may still will be unfamiliar with the concept, it has played a big part in some of my most successful articles here at Suicide Squeezin', and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody involved, and wish them luck in developing the network even further.

My first experiences with the BYB Hub came during research for this piece on the universal popularity of the Yankees' brand. I was able to interview some influential Yankee fans, experts and writers after initially reaching out to the Hub, and their insights are what made that article one of my most popular yet.

The piece was later featured on the BYB home page, where it received tremendous exposure and was welcomed extremely well by Yankee fans. I gained many Twitter followers through that piece, and struck up some truly brilliant conversations about the Yankees and baseball in general. I've made some great working relationships through the BYB Hub. But, more importantly, I've made some terrific acquaintances, and developed strong bonds with like-minded people.

Essentially, the BYB Hub is an opportunity for bloggers to share their work and gain greater exposure, by agreeing to cross-promote and have their articles displayed on the network. It is a great proving ground for new baseball writers to get their blogs off the ground and generate a real buzz about articles they're proud of, such as my project on the Yankees' brand.

If you're a baseball writer keen to get involved, don't hesitate to contact the BYB Hub through the main site. Moreover, if you're just a reader with specific interest in baseball, head over to the Hub, where you'll find a wealth of passionate and intelligent articles on a variety of subjects, from a slew of different perspectives.

Give the Hub a chance. I guarantee it will be a welcome addition to your baseball experience.

Interested in being a part of the BYB Hub?

If you think you have what it takes to make it in the Yankees / Baseball world, we have the place for you! The BYB Hub will help give your website exposure.  All you need to do is find me on Twitter or Facebook and submit your blog to us.  You will then be considered to be posted on our site.

If you are a newcomer, you'd be ranked a "Prospect". If you are new at blogging and would like to get more of a readership, you'd be considered a "Rookie".  If you've become established and blog consistently, your ranking would move to "The Pros."

When BYB started, there was no such thing as a Hub. Now there is. The reason? There's a ton of talent out there and not enough exposure is given.  We're giving you that opportunity at BYB.  Good luck.
